Pillowcases are the part of the bed you're in contact with for the longest stretch of the night: face, neck, hair. They're also typically the last thing people think carefully about. A rough pillowcase is a rough night. One that gaps open and lets the pillow half-escape is a minor frustration that adds up faster than it should.
Our pillowcases are designed to fix both of those things.
Standard pillowcases use either an open envelope closure or visible buttons. Both leave the pillow partially exposed. The envelope gaps open. The buttons can dig in, come undone, or catch on your hair.
Our pillowcases use a hidden zip that sits completely flush with the fabric. It's invisible from the outside, smooth against your face, and secure enough that the pillow stays inside no matter how much you move through the night. The zip runs along the bottom hem rather than the side, so the front face of the pillowcase stays completely clean.
Your face and neck are in contact with your pillowcase for the full duration of every night's sleep. More than any other piece of bedding, the fabric here has a direct effect on how you feel in the morning.
Synthetic pillowcases trap heat and hold moisture against your skin. Standard cotton is better, but still creates friction and draws moisture away from the skin surface overnight. Our bamboo-cotton blend does neither. The fibre is naturally smooth and moisture-wicking, which means less friction on your skin and hair, and better hydration maintained through the night.
It's worth noting if you're already spending money on skincare or trying to reduce hair frizz and breakage. The pillowcase is in contact with your face for seven or eight hours. It's a reasonable place to care about the fabric.
One of the more common frustrations in bedding is mismatched pillowcases. Slightly different white, slightly different weight, a different sheen after six months of washing. Our pillowcases are made from the same bamboo-cotton fabric as the rest of the TLC range, so if you're buying extras or replacing individual pillowcases within an existing set, the colour and finish will be consistent.
Sold in pairs. Available in standard size to fit most standard and queen pillows (48cm x 73cm), with our pillowcases measuring 51cm x 76xm.
Like all of our bamboo-cotton bedding, the pillowcases get softer with regular washing rather than rougher. Over the first few months most people notice a clear improvement in feel rather than the gradual deterioration you get with synthetic or lower-quality cotton pillowcases.
Skip fabric softener. It coats the bamboo fibre and reduces breathability over time. The cases look after themselves with regular washing.
We offer a 90-night sleep trial on all fitted sheet purchases. If the feel, temperature performance, or overall quality isn't noticeably better than what you were sleeping on before, send them back. No questions, no restocking fees.

More often than most people do. Pillowcases collect sweat, skin cells, hair product, and bacteria quickly, and because your face is in contact with them for hours every night, the buildup has a direct effect on skin. Once a week is the general recommendation, twice a week if you have acne-prone skin or use leave-in hair or skincare products before bed. The upside of bamboo-cotton is that it washes well and softens with repeated washing rather than deteriorating from frequent use. For more information, visit our Care Guide.
It can contribute. A pillowcase that isn't washed regularly harbours bacteria and oil that transfers to your skin overnight. Beyond hygiene, rough or synthetic fabrics create friction that can aggravate skin and clog pores. Switching to a smoother, natural fabric and washing more frequently is one of the lower-effort changes that can make a noticeable difference, particularly for people who already follow a skincare routine but still experience congestion along the jawline or cheeks.
For most people, bamboo-cotton hits the best balance. Silk has slightly less friction but is expensive, delicate to wash, and impractical as an everyday pillowcase. Standard cotton is durable but rougher on skin and hair than bamboo. Synthetic fabrics like polyester and microfibre are the worst option for skin, trapping heat and moisture against your face overnight. Bamboo-cotton gives you a smooth, breathable, natural fabric that washes easily and holds up over time.
Two things most pillowcases don't have. First, an invisible zip closure that keeps the pillow fully secured through the night with no hardware against your face. Second, a bamboo-cotton blend that gets noticeably softer with every wash rather than rougher. Most pillowcases do neither.
An envelope pillowcase has an open flap at the back that folds over to keep the pillow in. It's simple but the pillow can work its way out through the gap during the night. A zip pillowcase closes fully with a zip, keeping the pillow secured regardless of movement. Our pillowcases use a hidden zip that sits flush with the fabric, so there's no visible hardware and nothing rough against your face, but the pillow stays put all night.
